Budget Trip to Genting Highland 3d2n

This trip happened from 16 April 2012 to 18 April 2012.
(yeah, i took that long to make an entry about this keke. i still have my hk, bkk, kl and vietnam trip to blog about so please subscribe hehe)

I bought a deal at groupon for a 3d2n trip to genting for $68. It awesomely includes a round trip bus transfer by WTS from a preferred location of your choice to genting and 2 nights stay at First World Hotel. AWESOME RIGHT? That must be the cheapest deal you have ever seen!! Just kidding haha, please inform me though if you have seen this price so I can buy it again. JJ

And in case you are thinking that its some super rundown bus and lousy room from the hotel …..

There was ample leg space! Sufficient entertainment for the price!! Comfy seats with massage function!!!

the chair that i abused the massage function

my newly bought camera at that time hehe
And for the hotel room we were given

yup, its small but what do you expect? >.<

mirror facing bed though which is not good in chinese superstition. just saying.

Day 1

We didn’t really do a lot of things because it was our first time there on our own so we mainly wandered around aimlessly while sulking on not knowing how to get to the strawberry farm, mushroom farm, or the cheap staff’s foodcourt at ??? hotel or the supposedly good hawker center at the base of the genting hill. Sigh…

Anyway, we did manage to catch a shuttle bus to go to Chin Swee Cave temple where we took pictures with pagoda, Buddha and eat a vegetarian meal!
Shuttle bus schedule for your inference. you are welcome :)

a self-proclaimed artistic shot that adds no value to this post.

tada~~ pagoda!

and a giant buddha ^^

the pretty and empty vegetarian restuarant we dined at

vegetarian sweet and sour pork rice. rm 11.80

vegetarian fried rice. rm 10.80

their menu. you are welcome again :)
so yup, that concludes our pathetic first day...

hehe nope, just joking! We actually started our first day at only 4pm. It was a horrendous 6h bus trip and 2h wait at the lobby to get our room keys. Now, if you view it this way, didn't our first day seem exciting? hahahaha

Day 2

We woke up bright and early to buy our tickets to the outdoor theme park. No pictures were taken though because bags are not allowed in most thrill rides so I didn’t bring my camera down.
Anyway, its so sad that the outdoor theme park is closed until 2016 :( I was planning to visit the theme park again in the near future because there are some rides that I haven’t taken.
After the theme park, we went back to our hotel room to eat cup noodles for both lunch and dinner. The only meal we ate out was a budget breakfast at Mcdonalds. Wow!! I cant believe we were so short of money at that time.
I just started my part time job at that time so yup, what a tragic travelling I have had last year.
We did watch a movie though. Because It was only RM13!!! Haha

Day 3

Last day in genting and we realised we didn’t do a lot. We planned to visit the strawberry and mushroom farm. There wasn’t a direct shuttle bus to these farms so we grudgingly just wandered around the shopping mall in First World Hotel. Sigh… this is what happened when there was inadequate planning for our virgin trip by ourselves.

Total money spent: $120 inclusive of hotel and coach costs.

Klorane Dry Shampoo VS Batiste Dry Shampoo

Dry Shampoo Showdown
Dry shampoo has been my staple product since 3 or 4 years ago. I was a fan for that long haha, because sometimes, im just too lazy to wash my hair and I don’t like it when my hair is oily. A dilemma for a lazy person who wants to look clean, on whether you should wash hair in the morning hahahaha. Kidding, I have been washing it every day now.

Anyway, a sweet and short summary of the below paragraphs: I much prefer klorane dry shampoo with oat milk way more than batiste dry shampoo blush  J

 Smell
Klorane has no smell at all! Which is what you will want. When your hair is oily, there’s already this oily smell and you don’t want any other chemical smell to be mixed in which is just going to make the smell even worst!
Batiste did that!! It has a very strong chemical floral smell that is in no way pleasant. Don’t be fooled by the packaging and the description where it says it’s a floral and flirty smell! What a load of rubbish!! It makes my hair smell like it hasn’t been washed in a week instead -.-

      Powder and texture
Klorane dispersed a very light weightless powder which somehow really suck up all the oil particles in the hair without being visible. There is no white cast that is leftover from the powder on your hair even if you sprayed a lot of it. I don’t have to comb my hair over and over again to make sure that my hair don’t look white at some places.
Batiste on the other hand, sigh, will deposit a heavy white powder on your hair… the powder seriously feel so heavy you will feel like you are balancing 1kg of white solid on your hair… I have to brush my hair around 20 times and I will still feel like there’s still a shitload of powder on my hair. Running my hand through my hair will feel like im rubbing against some powdery substances which really really really irks me out!
Ok, I realised I sound really biased against batiste, but please realise that it is only towards this particle product. Batiste has some other dry shampoos which I used before and don’t hate that much. But batiste’s characteristic of having heavy visible white powder appears to be shared among its whole line.

      Volume
Klorane don’t really give a lot of volume because it don’t dispensed a lot of powder. It is the powder that builds up at the root of your hair to give your hair a lift up after all. So predictably, batiste gives a really good volume. So if you want volume in your hair and don’t mind the weird smell and powdery texture that your hair will feel like after using it, get it?

      Price
I bought klorane at watsons for around 14sgd and batiste at Chinatown for 4sgd?

      Conclusion
Spent more money on klorane dry shampoo hehe
